fairplay on Tour within the AK programme "Summer in the City"
On 4 August 2022, we participated in the summer programme "Summer in the City" of the Vienna Chamber of Labour to spread the word about our initiative "Our Game for Human Rights" and the related issues. Of course, our popular Streetkick was also part of it.
Through the fairplay tour stations, global structures and interrelationships - and their connection to sport - can be shown: Globalisation, economic South-North linkages, gender relations, migration, human rights violations or social injustice. For the tour, our workshop leaders are mobile throughout Austria in order to reach regions and target groups that are otherwise difficult to reach. The approach of mobile or outreach youth work is the theoretical background of "fairplay on Tour".
The initiative "Our Game for Human Rights" wants to use the publicity potential of sport, in particular by using the broad impact of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022, as a medium to raise awareness for development policy contexts and to realise global justice and a culture of human rights. Through various activities, children and young people, among others, are to be sensitised to development contexts and human rights measures - in the field of sport for development and human rights.
