ballesterer #179 - HSV

The ballesterer follows the history of Hamburger Sport-Verein from its beginnings to its great successes and relegation in 2018.

Five years ago, the clock stopped in Hamburg's Volkspark and HSV was relegated. Since then, the club has failed year after year in the fight for promotion - sometimes amateurishly, sometimes clumsily, sometimes unhappily. This year, too, it looks as if it will only work out with a lot of thrills. Despite the sporting misery, the Volkspark is full, no other second division team in the world moves so many people. Nicole Selmer researched why this is so for the current cover story of the new ballesterer. She met fans of different generations to talk about Hamburg and its sports club. In the big interview, former European Cup winner Horst Hrubesch talks about his job as HSV's youth director.

Issue #179 also focuses on Lower Austria and France: we read about the promotion plans of SKN Sankt Pölten and an illegal order by the Amstetten district administration, about the renovation of the Stade Bauer in Paris and the pyrotechnics experiments in the French stands. Carlo Ancelotti is honoured and the name of Dortmunder Westfalenstadions is discussed. The magazine also has a new series in its programme: four parts are devoted to the Argentine military dictatorship and the 1978 World Cup.

The new ballesterer is now available in tobacconists and in the online shop: https://shop.ballesterer.at/
