IcanDo e.V., based in Hannover, Germany, is looking for the following positions as of 15.03.2023
a freelance staff member (m/f/d)
for the model project 'VOLLKONTAKT - Democracy and Martial Arts'. This takes place within the framework of the federal program "Democracy live!" of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth since 2020 until 2024. The focus of the model project is on the prevention of violence and group-related hostility, as well as the promotion of diversity, with a special focus on the sector of extreme martial arts (e.g. mixed martial arts, kickboxing, K1). One of the questions of interest in the project is the relationship between the state, organized club sports and the free, commercial provider market. For this part of the project, IcanDo e.V. is looking for a freelancer (m/f/d).
Your tasks are:

Preparation, implementation, evaluation and result analysis of online-based research in two European countries (France / Netherlands).

Establishing contacts with contact/interview partners in these countries
-
Preparation of two final reports (one report per country) of 5-8 pages each along the following questions until October 2023.
The guiding questions are:
-
Who are the relevant actors in the field of sport and (extreme) martial arts, what are their characteristics?
-
What is the relationship between the state, the organized sports sector and the commercial market?
-
How was and is the phenomenon of extreme combat sport dealt with in the two countries mentioned?
-
What effects and consequences did this handling have?
Prerequisites for your freelance work are:
-
Experience with scientific research
-
Experience communicating with government agencies
-
Ability to write a final technical report
-
English language skills
-
French or Dutch language skills and knowledge of the martial arts sector are an advantage but not mandatory

Freelance status / possibility of invoicing
