fairplay at the LOGIN Sports Festival

We were part of the Erasmus+ projects Less4More and Sport Zajedno.

At the LOGIN sports festival, the fair play initiative was involved as part of the Erasmus+ projects Less4More and Sport Zajedno. In addition to a fair play corner with an info table, a chill-out zone, mini-table tennis, and microsoccer, our trainers also contributed to the women's football and Catch n' Serve programs.

Around 300 participants gathered on Saturday, May 17, in the Auer-Welsbach Park to enjoy a sporty and varied day at the sports festival. Football tournaments for women and men, volleyball in mixed teams, Catch n' Serve training and games, karate, and a children's program were offered.

As part of our Less4More project, we particularly supported the program points for women. Nick-Kilian Eile has been involved as a trainer for football and Catch n' Serve since the beginning of the 2.5-year EU project and helped organise the sports festival: “Through Less4More, we discovered a new sport with Catch n' Serve, completed training sessions, and introduced regular training at LOGIN. Additionally, there was a push for women's football and volleyball. I especially enjoyed the international networking within the project.”

Less4More aims to improve women's participation in sports and thus achieve gender equality through sports. Any form of gender-specific discrimination is to be dismantled, allowing women to be better integrated through physical activities. More information about the project can be found at: LESS4MORE

Also present at the sports festival was Dilara Acarbas, who was involved with the fairplay initiative for the first time as part of the Girls Football Festival 2024, allowing her to learn about our projects in the Western Balkans. Through a training for trainers of the "Sport Zajedno" project in Belgrade, Dilara was motivated to organise a sport event in Vienna and immediately contributed to the organization of the women's football competition. “As a referee, I usually only work in championship settings. However, through the Sport Zajedno project, I have now immersed myself in completely different settings of football and sports in general. I find it fascinating what social forces can emerge from football and how it brings together people from diverse backgrounds.”

The Sport Zajedno project promotes social change and reconciliation after conflicts among young people in and through grassroots sports in the Western Balkan countries. Trained multipliers are currently conducting their first “inclusive sports events” in their local communities. More information can be found here: Sport Zajedno Online Toolkit – fairplay education

Through the sports festival, people from various backgrounds and social as well as economic conditions came together and spent a wonderful, active day together. As a non-profit organization, LOGIN provides support in the form of experiential educational and health-promoting offerings and collaborates with various institutions in sports. The fair play initiative and LOGIN have been working together for many years on various activities (Cup of Good Hope, summer festival, workshops, round tables, networking meetings).
