From October 1 to 31, 2025, all clubs and initiatives in Austria are called upon to participate in the fairplay action weeks and to take a stand together against violence, sexism, and hate.

Violence against women, or people perceived as women, is still an everyday occurrence in our society. We must work together to counteract this decisively! Because: Violence is not a game. Not on the sports field, not in the family, not anywhere. And it is fueled by the belief that women and girls are less valuable or inferior. It is up to all of us to recognize, address, and prevent violence. Don't stand by and watch! Take a stand against sexism, hatred, and violence. Step in and make sports a safe place for everyone. Because showing respect is true strength.

We invite all clubs to participate in the fairplay action weeks and join us in taking a stand against violence, sexism, and hate. Every club can make a big difference, even with small actions! We will send you campaign materials, text templates, and suggestions for actions starting in September.

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, website, or live on site as an LED banner or poster: there are no limits to your creativity during the fairplay action weeks. We provide you with designs for a wide variety of channels, and you can make a small or big impact within your means. Every contribution is a win for greater diversity!

Raise awareness and educate about sexism, violence, and its breeding ground, nonviolent and diverse gender images, and what we can do to ensure safe and respectful coexistence: In cooperation with the organizations White Ribbon, Poika, Selbstlaut, and StoP – Stadtteile ohne Partnergewalt, we offer free workshops throughout Austria for clubs (officials or teams working with young people and adults) on the prevention of violence and raising awareness of non-violent masculinity. The fairplay Action Weeks for Diversity in Sport have been held annually in October since 2001 and are organized by fairplay – Initiative for Diversity and Anti-Discrimination in cooperation with the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB), the Austrian Football Bundesliga, Basketball Austria, and the Austrian Ice Hockey Association. They are made possible by the City of Vienna and the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Culture (BMWKMS).
