Reinforcing Women Sports Events

Project objective

The ReWSE (Reinforcing Women Sports Events) project is an Erasmus+ project that aims to promote equality, sustainability, visibility, and inclusion in women's sports events in Europe.

The project targets two groups, namely
• Women* in sport, event organizers, and young women* who want to become organizers and managers of sports events, with a special focus on the active involvement of women* with disabilities.
• Recreational sports organizations and associations.

The project has four specific main objectives:

1. Empower organizers of women's sports events to put the EU Green Deal guidelines for sports events into practice.
2. Empower organizers of women's sports events to become more inclusive and to promote women* with disabilities and parasports.
3. Improve concrete opportunities, networking tools, and support for women's sports events.
4. Put pressure on sports donors, sports media, and decision-makers/politicians in sports to increase the attention, investment, and visibility of women's sports events, with a particular focus on sustainability and inclusion as key values.

Activities
The results of the project will be disseminated through six national and transnational events involving five EU countries and a European sports network, which will have a direct impact on sports event organizers. Special attention will be paid to women* with disabilities and grassroots sports organizations in Europe in order to improve their networking and capacity to plan and organize inclusive, equitable, and sustainable sports events.
