Club 2x11 – 50 years of the Bundesliga - Presentation of the ballesterer bibliothek, 20.11.23

On the occasion of the publication of the ballesterer bibliothek, Club 2×11 is dedicating itself to the anniversary of the Austrian Bundesliga.

The Bundesliga was founded on 21 April 1974 and started its first season in August. Since then, Austria's top division has been characterised by big and small derbies, stars and scandals, legionnaires and licence withdrawals. The successful Innsbruck team at the beginning of the league was replaced by a Viennese decade, before clubs from the provincial capitals triumphed once again and Red Bull Salzburg finally began to dominate. However, the Bundesliga did not see champions from Graz, Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna, but also surprise teams from smaller towns such as Grödig, Mattersburg and Ried.

Club 2x11 is dedicated to the anniversary on the occasion of the publication of the ballesterer bibliothek on this topic. The special edition tells known and forgotten stories of the league and its protagonists. To mark the presentation, a high-calibre panel at Club 2x11 will discuss the high and low points of 50 years of the Bundesliga.

Panel discussions with:

Karl Daxbacher (Austria Wien)
Christian Ebenbauer (Chairman of the Austrian Football League)
Thomas Unger (Tornados and legal aid Rapid)
Petra Gregorits (Entrepreneur PGM Marketing, former member of the Rapid Presidium)

Moderation: Mathias Slezak (press office of the Austrian Bundesliga)
