SENTRY Sport Training, 22.6.22.

European online training on monitoring discrimination in sport and presentation of the SENTRY toolkit on 22 June 2022

In sport organizations there are many qualified sport educators* who work to promote values such as respect and mutual understanding in and through sport, but despite this there are daily cases of discrimination in our sport activities or stadiums, both at the highest level and at the grassroots level. fairplay at VIDC and UISP APS - Sport for All Association are hosting an online training seminar on Zoom on June 22, 2022. The training is a key activity of the SENTRY Sport project and will be held in two sessions from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00.
The main objective of this training is to provide sports educators with tools to recognize, observe and report discrimination and to provide initial assistance to victims in the form of counseling.

The SENTRY Sport Project

The overall objective of the SENTRY Sport project is to develop a common methodology for detecting, preventing and mitigating the phenomenon of discrimination in sport and beyond, based on the role that grassroots sport can play in combating discrimination and supporting victims. The objectives of the SENTRY Sport Training are to present the methodology, provide tools to identify and monitor discrimination phenomena in sport, build capacity and provide networking information.

The SENTRY Sport Toolkit.

The Sentry Sport Project will present during the training a toolkit with all the basic information about the methodology, useful advice on how to identify discrimination, how to create a network, how to understand the target and how to carry out a monitoring and prevention activity. The toolkit can be downloaded here: Download
