fairplay trainings are running again!

Our fairplay education programme got off to a strong start at First Vienna FC 1984 and FAC Vienna in 2024!

On 13 January, we were invited by the First Vienna FC 1894 women's football team to the Hohe Warte. The topics of the training were diversity and anti-discrimination as well as sport and human rights. Our training programme always focuses on the club and its players and coaches. The dialogue was correspondingly lively. The content ranged from various forms of discrimination (racism, sexism, homophobia) to misanthropic ideologies and the prevention of extremism. The FIFA Men's World Cup in Qatar 2022 was used as an example to illustrate the tensions that sport faces in the area of human rights.

Just this week, on 19 February, our journey took us to our long-standing cooperation partner FAC in Vienna Floridsdorf. Almost the entire team of youth coaches has already been looking at the potential of sport to promote diversity in the club at a young age. Once again, it became clear that each individual can contribute to an open culture free of discrimination in their (sporting) cooperation with people, as the FAC aims to do in its mission statement and daily work.
