Education & awareness-raising
Misanthropic ideas in the form of hatred and incitement are gaining ground in our society. This does not stop at sport: nationalism, right-wing extremism, and religiously motivated extremism pose challenges for us and for sport. It is important to raise awareness of this and to take a clear stand.
The goal:
fairplay prevention therefore aims to strengthen and support organized sports in its resilience against politically or religiously motivated extremism.
Based on the fairplay initiative's many years of experience in providing education that promotes diversity and combats discrimination in and through sport, we are aware of the gaps in this area of education and want to address this problem with our work and contribute to the prevention of extremism in sport and society.
What we offer:
To achieve this goal, fairplay prevention offers workshops for children and young people, training courses for adults, and an online course on the topic of “Preventing misanthropic ideologies in sport.”
Interactive events are designed to raise awareness among participants and encourage critical discussion. This engagement with misanthropic ideologies promotes the resilience of individuals and sports clubs and strengthens social cohesion.
fairplay prevention's educational offerings are needs-based and tailored to the relevant context (association/club/fans/youth centers, etc.) and target group (young people/multipliers). To increase the resilience of sports structures, workshops and training courses are offered independently of specific events as well as in response to specific occasions.
The events can be booked via fairplay education and the project managers Stefan Belabed (belabed [AT] vidc [DOT] org) and Karim Reuß (reuss [AT] vidc [DOT] org).
