Sport Zajedno selected as finalist for the #BeActive EU Sport Awards 2025

We are proud to announce that the “Sport Zajedno – Promoting Social Inclusion and Reconciliation through Grassroots Youth Sport” project has been selected as a finalist for the #BeActive EU Sport Awards 2025.

The #BeActive EU Sport Awards, organised by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ programme, recognise outstanding initiatives that promote sport and physical activity across Europe and contribute to building more inclusive and active communities. The awards highlight inspiring projects and organisations that use sport to foster participation, inclusion, equality and cooperation across society. This year’s competition received a record number of 279 applications from across Europe, from which 15 finalists were selected across five categories.

Implemented between 2024 and 2026, the Sport Zajedno project brought together partners from across the Western Balkans and the European Union to promote social inclusion, dialogue and reconciliation through grassroots youth sport. Through activities such as the Girls Football Festival and the Mini Van Tour as well as the training of sport multipliers and the publication of educational manuals, the project created opportunities for young people from diverse communities to meet, cooperate and build trust through sport.

The finalists of the #BeActive EU Sport Awards will be celebrated at the official award ceremony in Brussels in June 2026, where the winners in each category will be announced. We are honoured to see Sport Zajedno recognised among Europe’s leading initiatives using sport as a tool for inclusion and cooperation. This recognition is a testament to the commitment of all project partners, participants and supporters who believe in the power of sport to bring people together.
