Letzte Woche wurde die Förderung für Kleinprojekte gegen Homophobie vorgestellt. In Großbritannien und Irland ist der Februar jährlich der „Monat der LGBT-Geschichte“ und seit einigen Jahren schon hat sich der Termin als Monat der Aktivitäten gegen Homo- und Transphobie im Fußball etabliert. Grass roots, Amateur_innenvereine, Fans, NGOs, Jugendgruppen und andere sind auch heuer wieder aufgerufen, sich für eine der 20 Förderungen zu bewerben!
Kampagnen-Leiterin Lou Englefield erklärt die Wichtigkeit des Programms wie folgt (Englisch): “Every year in the UK we work with professional clubs to take action on discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in football and that helps us communicate our message of inclusion around the world. We know that its not just clubs that have a stake in making football welcoming for everyone though, and fans, campaigners and educators internationally are also helping to make a differenceâ€.
